The island exists in our minds. Some call it worlds, cities, continents, places. Mine is neither so large or so small. An island will do just fine....with some thoughts about "Victory".

Japanese culture today

I should write about this before I forget. Every spring and summer there is a high school baseball tounament. Every prefecture (like state) can send 1 team to the finals (just like world cup?) So this year the school that has won 2x in a row before played against a team in Tokyo which had never won. The Tokyo team won, But they had to play 2 games over 2 days. 15 innings the first game and it ended in a 1-1 tie. The next day the same 2 pitchers pitched 9 more innings and the final was 4-3. Of course all the BIG MEDIA are located there/here (we live on the outer edge of Kanto within distant commuting distance) So during the game the Waseda (school name) pitcher who won,
was seen using what is really a small hand-towel, but because the towel has some kind of print and color on the edge the media called it a "handkerchief". and He was called the "Handkerchief Prince Sakata" His name is Sakata.

So, now the elections for the new Prime Minister will be held in September. Mr. Abe is expected to win. He uses a handkerchief sometimes during his news briefings because he is the Foreign Minister and its summer and hot. So guess what the Newspapers are calling him?

Japan's on my "must visit list" but you're making it climb to the top of the list with your blog.

Good work here...I'll be back.

Handkerchief Prime Minister?

All my life, I could only associate Japan with Captain Majid (??????, Kyaputen Tsubasa), the legendary footballer in the cartoons.. Of course the image that I had in my head was a beautiful one.. though I doubt there are any natural blondes.. I dont know..

Now it's an entirely different view.. and it's a country I'd love to visit, provided that I found enough vegetarian restaurants and fish-free markets!

last but not least, is that picture of yourself? it strikes me for some reason!

Kind Regards,

P.S: You should update your blog more regularly instead of posting a comment on every single blog on the net! :P
